Hope you all had a great weekend! Sam and I had an amazing weekend! And I was really happy about it not passing by too quickly. Lately I feel like my weekends have been zooming by, but you know how they say time flies when you’re having fun? It didn’t this weekend! We had so much fun and I feel like we just soaked up every minute of it (even in the midst of feeling exhausted) because those times are so precious and I think you start to realize that the older you get!
I wish I had saved more of the pictures that I took, I realized when I sat down to write this that most of my pictures from our weekend were captured on snapchat and then I forgot to save them!
So. Friday when I got home, Sam and I headed out for a date night. We literally drove 20 miles away for a Raising Cane’s chicken finger box. Super fancy (kidding) and also maybe kind of sad that we did that, but we really enjoyed the drive and we LOVE Canes so we thought it was the perfect date. On the way home we stopped for some FROYO at Yogurt Planet where I loaded the top of my cake batter and salted carmel yogurts with CHOCOLATE ON CHOCOLATE ON COOKIE DOUGH. And Sam topped his with fruit…. he’s so good. While I’ve turned into what I’ve been eating and sadly I’ve reached the peak of my indulgences and I’m starting a diet this week! Hopefully working my way back to my healthy habits and lifestyle choices once again. Nevertheless it was the perfect date for an old married couple such as ourselves (how have we only been married one year?? haha)
On Saturday morning we went to the gym because we haven’t been in awhile due to the first round of elementary school sickness…Sam and I both got it bad! We seriously hadn’t been sick at all, like the past three years before this! So our immune systems were a little thrown. It was really nice being back in the gym…I’m currently sooo sore but I love it! Is that weird? I just love the feeling of being sore, knowing that my body got worked and is changing!
After our workout we went and got some CRYOTHERAPY!! I was really excited about this because I got invited to try it out for free and it was a really COOL experience, literally! I’ll have to share the details in an upcoming post but it was a really fun experience.
After that we took our pups to the lake for a swim sesh and oh my goodness I couldn’t have been more amused with them in the water. Our little blue heeler, Nugget is sooooooo happy and at home in the water, he’s like a little seal pup or an otter or something. He loves jumping in and his chest is so big that he just kind of floats and glides along like he was made for swimming. He’s super fast and loves fetching sticks and biting at the waves and it’s the CUTEST thing ever.
Our big girl Zoey struggles a little with swimming but has started trying to swim a little more since she’s seen Nugget doing it! It’s really cute because she’ll swim out to Sam and then he’ll just hold her and she is so content to just stay there in his arms. She’s our big softy sweetheart cuddle bug, while Nugget is our little water baby wild child. I haven’t been so amused in a long time.
Saturday evening we got to hang out with my best friend from high school and her hubby (who I also knew in high school, they started dating in high school and we were the three amigos back in the day) in San Marcos! We ate the best BBQ (which I’ll have to ask her what the place was called because I completely forget, but it was so good!) and then we headed to Zelicks for a few drinks.
Deep Eddy’s Lemon Vodka and Topo Chico. You can thank me later!
Sunday morning we went to church and I am always seriously blown away by the genuineness and realness of our pastor Will Davis. You can listen to his sermon from this Sunday here (you’ll want to hear his story at the very end).
After church it was sooo lovely outside that we had to take the dogs to the lake again before going to a small group meeting. And then taking the dogs for a trail walk when we got home. And then I worked on bridal shower crafts.
Hope you all had amazing weekends and have a good week!
