Two Posts in 1 Day?!? YEP. I just really needed a second to journal blog. I’ve been struggling to get a post out this week because I’ve been feeling extremely tired! And I haven’t been able to gather my thoughts… but here I go in an attempt!
This past weekend was a ton of fun because my dad, who has worked long and hard to earn his pilot’s license, has a new plane! So he was able to fly him, my mom and myself over to Boerne for BHM. That was exciting in and of itself…although a tiny bit nerve-racking because I worry about silly things like WHAT DO I DO if my dad has a heart attack mid flight?!? He makes it sound so easy, “you just keep it at 80 and bring it down.” OH, okay then, i’ve totally got this. not.
He’s been trying to get me to work on my pilot’s license for FOREVER. And while I would honestly love that. It also scares the daylights out of me…because I’m not great at things like simple math and science. And you have to monitor so many things on the dash, and watch your airspace and communicate with the tower and etc, etc, etc. So it pretty much amazes me that he can fly a plane. He says: “it’s just like driving a car.” EYEROLL EMOJI TIMES TEN.
So, he flew us out. We got to Boerne in 45 minutes when it would have taken 2 plus hours if we had driven. So after we explore Boerne Handmade Market we had time to eat a little lunch-dinner. We stopped in at this place my parents had seen on TV called Little Gretel. It was so cute – right along the river near downtown Boerne. The owner, Denise, is originally from Czechoslovakia and she serves all of her authentic recipes from back home along with traditional German cuisine and some American options as well. It was absolutely delicious and so quaint – definitely recommend if you’re ever in Boerne. It’s like traveling to Europe in the heart of the Texas Hill Country!
So that was our weekend. And I was super excited to make it home from BHM with these handmade’s:
Yesterday for Halloween I went to hang out with my sister-in-law’s and steal some of their kid’s candy 😉 I was kind of bummed that Sam was out of town but what can ya do? He’s been traveling quite a bit lately and when he’s traveling things always seem a bit more hectic. I always feel so sappy while he’s out of town…I honestly don’t know what I would do without that guy, I love him so much! I barely remember the days where I was single and just fine being singular. Haha.
I’m in love with this orange shift dress! Even if I’m an Aggie. The color is technically Ginger Rust and not Burnt Orange, but this dress is one of the easiest and most comfortable I own at the moment. You can find more about it here.
Anyway, so that’s all I’ve got for now! I’m excited about a few other things but I don’t want to jump the gun like I normally do.
Hope everyone is having a great week! Drop me a comment 🙂 Please, I would love to hear from you!
