Its Wednesday and I’m doing a weekend re-cap post! That’s how behind I am with things… right now my head feels all fuzzy. I slept 14 hours last night because I’m so sick! And it’s really annoying not having a voice, but my husband – jokingly but semi-seriously – says it’s kind of nice. Haha. THANKS. Love you too. 😉
My birthday weekend was super chill! How else do you bring in 27? Sam says that I’ve reached the Varsity of the 20s. Adult adulthood. And I guess being an “adultier adult” comes with wanting to do things differently on my birthday than I did when I turned 21. Or even last year when I wasn’t yet in the “varsity years.”
This year, Sam and I went out to a fancy-romantic dinner on Friday night at The Grove in Lakeway. We enjoyed the heated and lit patio that overlooks the Hill Country, split a bottle of wine and a pizza, came home with the giggles and then passed out.
Saturday morning Sam cooked us brunch and granted, I was sick, but I was feeling lazy in general. Since becoming a teacher, weekends for me usually = sleep, naps, couch potato time. Sam and I watched a few Grey’s Anatomy episodes and took the dogs to the park. The lake is way up and the weather has been so nice – a little warm for my liking in December but still really nice.
We were planning on going out on the town for my birthday on Saturday night but opted for staying in and ordering Thai take-out instead. Bed by 10. Adulthood.
Sunday evening we went out for dinner with my family in downtown Round Rock. Went to Fire in the Hole. Downtown Round Rock is super cute by the way! I was really surprised by how many different little cafes, taverns and shops there were!
AAAAAAAAAaaaaaand that’s my 27th birthday. Haha. My Nyquil is kicking in…I’m off to bed!
