I DID IT AGAIN! I love juice. Below I'm sharing a little more about my experience with Squeezed Online and then down a little further I'm sharing some serious stuff about my food-relationship journey. If you know anyone that this could help please share!
Why Squeezed Online
This was my second cleanse with Squeezed Online! The first was seven days long, and I loved it so much that I knew I would be doing it again. I also lost 7 lbs the first time I did it which was awesome. This time around was more of a post 4th of July boost in the right direction / clear up my acne face 3 day cleanse. And it worked really well, my body really needs those veggies!
I love Squeezed Online because they deliver juice straight to your door from the hours of 1-6am. They don't knock, they don't wake you up...so basically the first day of your cleanse all you have to do is wake up, open your front door and start drinking juice! The company is Texas based however I recently found out that they CAN ship out of state!
What does the cleanse look like?
Basically with Squeezed Online's cleanse you will drink six juices a day: breakfast juice, snack juice, lunch juice, snack juice and dinner juice. And if you order the cashew milk add on then you can drink that either after a work out or for your last drink of the day after your dinner juice. You're drinking juice so regularly that you aren't really ever hungry...and you're receiving enough calorie intake anyway, just in a juicy and nutritious form.
You have several options when ordering your cleanse. You can get your cleanse with mostly veggie juices or a mix of fruit and veggie juices (which I like to do). Then you have the option of replacing your first snack juice with a spicy juice, which helps boost your metabolism. And then you have the option of adding cashew milk to your order. And finally your have the option of choosing the length of your cleanse, anywhere from 1 to 7 days long. So you can really make this cleanse fit your needs! *You can also order any of their juices a la carte if you want to try some out first!
What benefits did I see from the cleanse?
My 7 day cleanse I lost 7lbs, and I had energy! I felt light and limber and was rocking soul cycle... I felt the difference. With this 3 day cleanse I went from 124lbs to 120lbs! AND my really irritated acne face cleared up almost immediately, which was one of my top priorities with this cleanse. I'd been having a really tough July, acne wise - from a mixture of stress and too much food that was not providing any nutritional value to my body. So I really wanted this cleanse to give me a boost in the right direction and it completely did just that!

My Food-Relationship Journey
I used to STRUGGLE with food you guys. The years that you are stereotypically supposed to be your best body (18-21), I was at my most overweight and even when it appeared I wasn't overweight I was at my most unhealthy. These were my college years and my I don't know what the hell I'm doing years and so the combination of beer, pizza, anxiety and a lack of direction really led me to a place of low self confidence. And in turn I was eating all of the wrong things during the day and a lot of nights...I would binge eat crap in the pantry until I completely hated myself. And then I would try to overcompensate by working out too hard or literally not eating for a couple of days. And it was a vicious cycle and one that I didn't share with ANYONE.
But I remember it getting to a point where I had to break the cycle because I was scared that it would get worse if I didn't. I remember once specific time that I hadn't eaten anything for three days after a binge and my body started to hurt like I'd never felt before...because this wasn't just a one time thing, this was a cycle I was repeating over and over of binging and then starving myself. I started to get dizzy and my vision started to get blurry and I knew that this was NOT something I wanted to fall deeper into or unintentionally cause permanent damage. It was a really scary feeling and I remember running to the pantry to put some food in my stomach and just praying for help, and for a better self-image.
This isn't something that I love to talk about because I never shared during those times...how I felt or what I was going through with anyone. And so it might come as a surprise to people that didn't know...but then again it might not, because there was a lot of internal struggle going on that I think was pretty evident in the ways that I acted and the confidence that was not present in my decisions and actions.
Anyway...it took a lot of self-reflection and prayer and wanting better for myself. Deep down I knew I was stronger than that, and that I had love and support. Though I wish now that I had been brave enough to share that struggle because I think it wouldn't have gone on for so long if I had. That's when I started looking into the whole "lifestyle" thing that became very popular around that time. I remember I had a friend who was selling Juice Plus and so I hopped onto her program for a month and when I saw how good it felt to be eating right and eating nutritional things, it helped me out of the bad habits that my faith had already been helping me out of and helped me build a better foundation on top of that as well.
I only did the Juice Plus program one month...I appreciated the principles that it taught me, but I really wanted to strive for balance in the things that I ate - I still wanted to enjoy pizza and treats and things that aren't necessarily the BEST for me...but I wanted to enjoy them in this fancy overused word food word called "moderation" and eat things that were awesome nutritionally as well (aka veggies veggies veggies). I realized that if I completely cut anything out of my diet I would obsess over it and so instead I aimed for a balance of both...
SO I bought a juicer on sale at Macy's one year and resolved to make veggies a more regular part of my day. I would buy a big batch of veggies and juice them and have a huge container of juice for the whole week. And I would have a glass of it with whatever I was eating for breakfast or lunch.
Then eventually I started cooking veggies too...because I realized juicing EVERY week was a lot of work. Which by the way, I'm looking for a really good brussels sprouts recipe if anyone has one?
And then eventually I found that I had created some good habits for myself, and didn't overthink food too much. Honestly...this was a process of being food conscious and thought conscious for over 10 years now. Because it all started around age 18 and I'm 28 now. So there are a lot of habits that I've built into eating that have helped me a lot.
As far as weight goes, I don't freak out if I fluctuate here and there because I generally do from time to time, but NOT because of unhealthy habits. Mostly because I need to come back to balancing my diet with more veggies, or because we were just at an all-inclusive or there have been a lot of birthdays/holidays/etc.
And as far as eating for my body, this is something I'm still working on. I like to balance my diet with foods I love and foods that are good for me, but I've learned over the past few years that my body specifically needs A TON of veggies. I've realized this by how I feel when I eat veggies and how my skin gets when I don't eat enough veggies! So I love to add a side of veggies to whatever we're eating but I also LOVE a good cleanse every now and then.
It reminds me what my body needs, helps me continue good habits and gives me a boost in the RIGHT direction.
So anyway, that's a little bit of my journey with food. If you have any more specific questions you can comment below or reach out to me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
