This weekend had some of the coolest clouds I have seen in a super long time! And it may be redundant to post all the pictures of them that I love…but I had to because they are all so stinkin gorgeous. I seriously could have sat in a field all day just looking at the sky and I kind of wish I had…there’s something about being outside and admiring the world that God made that takes ALL STRESS AWAY. (scroll through the pics to keep reading 😉 )
So speaking of sitting still, I downloaded the She Reads Truth app onto my phone again. I go through phases with this Bible Study app (and most things in life to be honest) but I decided to start their Proverbs plan today! It’s a 28 day reading plan that you can find here: Proverbs: The Way of Wisdom or on their mobile app under plans. I like this particular study so far because it gives you questions to process at the end of each study which is super helpful and a great way to get your brain and heart moving.
So back to the weekend, Sam came home from work in Oklahoma. We tried out our favorite new Indian food in the area: Tarka Indian Kitchen (we loove Indian food, it’s so good) and then Sam and I went to kayak the park where I usually run and where I take all of my wildflower pictures because IT”S HALFWAY UNDERWATER! So that was kind of neat. Everyone was there taking pictures of it and there were kids literally swimming in the playground and jumping off of things in the playscape into the water because it was also halfway underwater – so fun!
So crazy story – when Sam and I first moved to Lakeway two years ago, Lake Travis was pretty much EMPTY, literally. The park that I ran at was a big canyon with a vast field you could go exploring through. We never thought or even imagined that we would see it full, let alone at flood stage anytime soon or ever. Around that same time we found a church to go to in Lakeway and they were praying furiously for God to fill “our hearts and our lake” to 681 feet, which is full pool! I cant speak for Sam but I thought their prayer slogan was kind of cheese ball…but then last summer Lake Travis began to rise rapidly in the matter of two weeks! We went from adventuring a canyon to literally having a place to take some floats and have a lake day. It was CRAZY the difference in such a short period of time when all that time we had been questioning whether it would ever be full again. Lake Travis is currently sitting at nearly 693 feet and about two or three weeks back, Lake Travis had to open the dam for the first time in 9 years! It’s no wonder people get excited about their city park being halfway under water…because we’ve all been waiting for it for so long and I think it’s been brought about because of the many prayers of the one little church that sits in Lakeway on Lake Travis. Probably the prayers of people in the community as well. Which just goes to show me how powerful prayer can really be! I know every time I run around the park, I’m amazed at the difference from two short years ago. And it’s been a great reminder that God can do all things and that I should communicate with Him!!
So that was our weekend! Lots of fun! Oh and then we got to come home to Lakeway until Friday so I had a chance to do some juicing and meal prep which I need after lately. Ebb and flow…life goes on… 🙂
Hope all you teacher friends are enjoying your summer to the fullest!
