Here’s a bit of my second day in Tulsa! I loved our Airbnb because it was within walking distance of everything I wanted to do. Woke up the second morning and walked over to Oklahoma Kolache Co. to start my second day. How can you go wrong starting your day with Nutella??? In a warm kolache. So yummy!
From there I wanted to check out one of the top things to see in Oklahoma! Like the whole of Oklahoma, not just Tulsa! So I walked about a mile and a half through the MOST gorgeous neighborhood. Like seriously, these houses are amazing. I’m wondering how much they cost because it was a whole ten blocks or something of walking through a movie or storybook. Older, homey, vines growing up on them but NICE.
Anyway I walked through to Villa Philbrook, also known as The Philbrook Museum of Art. Previously owned by the Phillips family (a wealthy family that worked in the oil business) who originally built the structure in 1926 as a place for their kids to entertain and bring friends over, they eventually donated the villa to Tulsa to be turned into an art museum. And the place is completely stunning!! I could have hung out there all day just admiring the architecture of the villa alone. Not to mention all of the art and artifacts inside of it… it’s definitely a must see!
Afterward I walked 1.5 miles back toward our Airbnb and by that time I was starving so I stopped into Heirloom Baking Co. because they had gotten a lot of good reviews. I ordered a Brie&Pear Sandwich and salad and it was SO GOOD. I got a gluten free raspberry brownie to-go and headed back for an afternoon nap/gilmore girls sesh. The brownie was amazing, I don’t normally order gluten free things, but the brownie just looked so good that I wanted to try it! Definitely didn’t notice any gluten missing.
In the afternoon I went and did a little window shopping. And when Sam got back we went with Chipotle for dinner instead of being adventurous. But, Chipotle is just so good! The next morning we were up and off to the airport, and if you follow me on SNAP you saw my long 10 hour day of basically living at the airport! I was literally like Tom Hanks from the Terminal, a lady at one of the airport shops told me that she’d put me to work if I needed something to do! LOL. I didn’t…I was good watching Gilmore Girls (ALMOST DONE)!
It was a fun quick trip to Tulsa, super enjoyable, lots of cute things to see, good places to eat and several museums to visit/history to be learned! And thank God for no stormy weather while we were there!!!
