HAPPY FRIDAY! I've decided to do a Spring Cleaning Series! Because like I said, it's needed, badly.
I started with the pantry last night! Literally worked hours and hours throwing out junk, cleaning cabinets, and with the help of The Container Store, got a lot of organization done! I LOVE The Container Store - anyone else? It has everything you could EVER need to organize, so this is going to be fun. And this is not sponsored, although I wish it was. Haha...I'm SO team Container Store. They're having a Spring Cleaning Sale right now...and I'm definitely going back because I didn't buy enough! What I DID buy went a long long way though.
- My favorite thing about cleaning out the pantry was organizing my spices with these YouCopia In Drawer Spice Organizer's! They stay in place and your spices look so neat & pretty! Having them in a drawer by the stove is so convenient - not to mention it freed up so much space on the pantry shelves!
- I bought this Organize It All Can Rack because we usually have so many single cans of beans, corn or fire-roasted tomatoes scattered around the pantry. All individual items of the same shape that can be put together in a container instantly makes the pantry feel organized.
- Another favorite were these ClickClack Cube Storage Containers! I bought a few for flour, granulated sugar, powdered sugar & brown sugar (lots of baking ingredients lying around the pantry). I want to buy more for my grains and there were a couple full bags of whole wheat flour that I wish I'd bought a storage container for as well. It was so satisfying having the flour so easily accessible. I tried this Baked Paprika Parmesan Chicken recipe after organizing the pantry and the flour in the container was way less messy than getting flour directly from the bag.
- The last thing I bought was this cute open-front bin for snacks. Sam works from home here and there and he likes a good midday snack. So I thought it'd be nice to put together a snack basket in the pantry where they are super visible and Sam doesn't have to ask me if we have any snacks because he can't see them. Problem solved!
I want to buy more storage bins for the pantry for things like my vinegars and different oils, etc. So I'll probably be organizing my pantry even more. But I'm so happy with the way these four simple things completely changed my pantry! I also already had a few tins available at home and I used mason jars to store the million-and-one straws that we have for some reason.
I'm already feeling so light and at ease with only the pantry being organized. I'm officially excited about organizing everything else...which confirms that I'm over 25 years old, I've never been this organized. #adulting. Next up: my closet, the laundry room, the supply closet, and we'll see where all else this goes. How is your spring cleaning going - any areas of the house you want more ideas for?
