Casa Verde Condo
Hope you all had a great weekend! We had the most relaxing Friday and Saturday - we ended up staying home instead of driving out to Giddings for a night - and it was much needed! With Sam and I's vagabond lifestyle, what we really enjoy and need from time to time is a space to be still and do nothing but enjoy each other, especially since he's always traveling and when he's home we're always busy/distracted with a list of things. I usually know when I need a mental break and some restful time at home because I cry about silly things... like putting on pants. Yep, that happened. They just weren't fitting right, I felt tired and fluffy and emotional and I cried about my pants....haha. And then I immediately spent the weekend in pajamas. Being around other people when I hit my exhausted cry phase is a little bit risky.
We moved all our stuff over to the house from the condo on Wednesday where we have a fake Christmas tree - which is pretty and all but I was excited to get to the house and buy a nice big real tree! It looks better, smells better and feels more like Christmas to me because that's what I always had growing up! I really can't wait to have kids and start the tradition of going to a Christmas tree farm every year! We have one about 45 minutes away where you get to cut down your own trees and I really wanted to go this year, but we'll have to make it work next year for sure. Who knows, maybe by then we'll have a little bun in the oven?
So I went out and got a real Christmas tree at the Papa Noel tent up the road (which had GREAT trees, by the way! nice selection) on Thursday and then spent Friday decorating it and enjoying the cold weather and smores by the fire, which was my absolute favorite. Sam gets cabin fever so on Saturday he insisted that we get out of the house for a date night. It's so funny because he was so much more of a home body in college and I was the one wanting to go out and do something all the time. Really, he just needs something to do. And we're different in that way. For example on our honey moon, I was content to lay on the beach every.single.day. But after 30 minutes on the beach Sam is ready to go kite boarding or something crazy! Which I'm always down for too (maybe not kite boarding exactly, but surfing for sure!), I'm just perfectly content relaxing on the beach ALL day as well.
I'm glad we went on a date night because there's something about getting out of the house and having the opportunity to talk without the distraction of your phone or the TV that is so so good. Sometimes I like talking, haha. Anyway, so we had a great date night, we went to Torchy's and Creamistry and then after we had a good date night we watched some West World! OMG - are any of you watching that? I absolutely HATE all of the shock-value stuff that HBO has to put in every single show because I think the storyline would be just as good without it. I was also just uncomfortable with the fact that they made everyone horrible human beings...and I told Sam that I could only handle one episode a day (because we like to binge watch shows)! But the plot gets better and better. And from what I understand it's a re-make of an older West World? If you aren't watching it: It's about a fake Wild West that is full of life-like human robots and real people can pay to visit this world and pretend to be cowboys, etc. And that's all I'll say, there's a lot more to it but you just have to watch it yourself. It does have a lot of explicit content, so watch at your own discretion.
Okay, that's all - Happy Monday! <3 Amanda
