Hope everyone had a good weekend! Ours was busy and good. Sam got home from a week of work in Florida on Friday and our weekend consisted of: cleaning for air bnb guests, test driving a potential new car, ikea couch testing, a date at Kirby Lane Cafe (Austin original with the BEST queso), a family birthday party, church and Sam heading back on the road for work this week! He’s a trooper.
Work will be providing us breakfast and lunch all week and I’ve gone through this once before with training in June… I totally consumed ALL the food they got us. The breakfast pastries and mid day cookies and lunch time cookies and seriously, ALL the cookies. People would give me their cookies if they didn’t want them because they knew I’d eat them haha. I’m a sucker for sweets.
It was really nice and really yummy but I gained five pounds and felt ugh after… So I’m preparing to nix the temptations by bringing healthy snacks with me!
I’ll be bringing:
- Green Juice!!! (kale, beets, lemon, ginger, jalapeno, pineapple, carrots, apple…THE WHOLE NINE YARDS)
- Quest protein bars. The moment Sam and I discovered Quest was like a protein match made in heaven…haha, but really, it’s got 1 gram of sugar or less in it!! And the ingredients don’t seem super shady. AND it’s good for cooking and baking: see Protein Coffee Cake.
- A bag of almonds!
- Fruit! I’m really craving oranges and grapefruit lately.
- A bag of carrots and cherry tomatoes!
And I’ll be staying away from the cookies!!
Here’s to a week away from sugar!! Cause after this weekend I need a little detox! 💚
