"Made Simply to Delight."
I love writing things down. I mean, obviously, I have a blog so I must love writing to some extent. But I've always loved expressing myself through writing or creativity of some sort (it comes much easier than verbal communication haha). I like to think I would 'vision board' before that was even a thing...Oh the notebooks full of embarrassing journal entries that I have! I remember cutting aspirational pictures out of magazines and putting them into these notebooks and daydreaming about life - where I would go, who I would be... it helped me wonder at life and kept my heart open to the possibilities!
Well I still love writing and daydreaming and being creative but nowadays it seems like I write more to keep up with my days!: what I need to get done, where I am going to be on such and such dates - for some structure and to keep the brain farts at bay. Lately I've been telling Sam that I feel as though I have so much swirling around in my head but I can't remember any of it! Because, if I don't write it down and it's something I need to do it gets lost in all of the other thoughts about things I need to do and I completely forget... anyone else? Is this old age?
WELL, that's why I really wanted to collaborate with May We Fly. Leana Fischer is the designer and illustrator behind all of the amazing products at May We Fly - she makes calendars, art prints, cards, holiday prints and she even offers framing through her website, which is a perfect gift for the artsy person in your life, or the teacher in your life or the boss babe! I specifically love her big beautiful calendars that have gorgeous art correlating to each month. They look like something you would buy at Anthropologie and I love Anthropologie's home and art decor! So now I have a spot to write things down that evokes that same sense of awe of life that I used to have when I was a bright eyed & bushy tailed vision-board-journaler!
Leanna says this of her designs: "My aim here is to share those things that resonate with us all; glimpses of beauty, natural rhythms, every day wonders. The more I paint these little discoveries, the more I seem to find them. Sometimes it's a beautiful array of flowers. Sometimes it's a giraffe wearing pants. Whatever you find delightful here, I hope it leaves you with a smile."
This post was in collaboration with May We Fly, however all opinions are genuine and my own!
