Hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend. Ours was FULL. And it was so much fun! Though at the same time we miiight need a vacation from it! Haha. All the food and drinking might have kicked my butt a little bit - I woke up Tuesday feeling like a train wreck! Anyone else?
I was really looking forward to the long weekend for a lot of reasons. Sam's been traveling a lot. I've been interviewing a lot. I've been home alone a lot. And honestly, I've been feeling very isolated, exhausted and a little deflated lately. So I was really excited to be surrounded by good times and good people.
Friday and Saturday we were on the lake with friends, my FAVORITE place to be in Austin. I swear if I believed in past lives I would think that I was a fish (or maybe a dolphin sounds a little more glamorous) in a previous life. HAHA. But I don't...
Sunday we watched the A&M game with friends - WHAT WAS THAT?!? I cannot believe how bad that game was for A&M. I'm so glad we were watching it, I mean I know it wasn't good but that's definitely one that's going down in history and I saw it happen! Also, there were a ton of people cheering for UCLA at Yardhouse, where we were watching the game. Were they just UT fans or is California literally taking over Austin? Hmm..
Monday we explored a new Austin nursery called The Natural Gardener. You know how much Sam loves his plants, it's a very endearing quality of his. I was most excited to see the goats though!
Afterward we met Sam's parents for lunch and if you're in Austin you have to try SAP'S Fine Thai Cuisine. It's SO good! Sam always orders the Kao Soi at work lunches and brings home some for me because the portions are huge and it's so yummy! I also ordered the Pad Sea-Ew and you HAVE to try a Thai Iced Tea. My father in-law tried it and likened it to ice cream! Haha.
Then we got home and had a neighbor night! We went to the Lake Park in our neighborhood, paddle boarded, grilled burgers and enjoyed the view of the Hill Country off their back patio before they schooled us in Cranium! Haha...love game nights though, seriously. Let's bring it back!
It was AMAZING. I haven't had a weekend like that since I was in college and it was so much fun to see and spend time with so many people that we love! If only EVERY weekend could be just like that. Although we realized come Tuesday morning that we needed a little more time off just to regroup. It's especially hard for Sam because he's always on the road and it can be a tricky balance between wanting to do everything, not always having the time, or just not having any down time. But he does so well juggling everything!
Anyway, hope your week is going well! And your September at that! I can't believe it's already September...Sam's 31st is on the 25th!!! Gotta start planning something!
Alrighty I'm going to re-fill my coffee and try to be EXTRA productive today. Happy Wednesday!
