happy new year!
I'm really really excited for a new year! Like, super excited. Normally I'm still sulking about my favorite holidays being over. But this year I'm kind of relieved to be moving forward (maybe I'm not sulking because our Christmas tree is still up?)! With that being said, it's always nice to reflect on the year before. We had kind of a tough year - I think our gypsy lifestyle finally caught up to us! We were tired a lot and sometimes it was hard to see where this was all going, but we made it work. And I think we've learned a few things from living out of suitcases. Like for one, we have way more than we need...even after we've tried to downsize 100 times. Two, home is sometimes just being together and enjoying who we are with, wherever we are. And three, we'll REALLY appreciate a home base when we have one...Oh, and four - patience. I'm sure there is more if I stop to think about it.
We've also had a lot of highlights this past year to be thankful for (the big things always jump out to me first, because who doesn't love to travel?!): San Francisco, Costa Rica with our best friends (it's almost baffling to me that we haven't been to the beach since Jan 2016 though...this needs to change in 2017 haha), visiting one of my best girlfriends in Minnesota, a road trip to Grand Tetons & Yellowstone with the family (and seeing bears!!!), making the best of a trip cut short with Sam in Estes Park, Colorado (horseback riding through the rockies), plus our anniversary trip to Cali! And just so many things in between.... I could try and name them all but this post would be too long. Because as hectic as the year did seem, it was full of big and little moments that brought us growth, joy and fond memories. Sometimes I just have to remind myself to slow down and think about these things!
I've also done a lot of growing with The Brilliant Balance this year and I CANT WAIT to see where it takes me in 2017! This probably makes me the most excited in terms of personal growth and goals for the New Year. I LOVE all of the opportunities this blog has brought my way so far and I'm so thankful that Sam has been so supportive of it, especially this year. I hope that it'll only get better and better! And I really appreciate you guys reading this 🙂
Hope everyone has their best year yet <3 Happy 2017!
