As promised here is part two of my fun with Sweet Leaf Tea!
If you know me then you know I love my (red) wine! Which is why I was super excited about making Sangria with Sweet Leaf Tea’s peach flavored tea.
I had actually never made homemade sangria before and I didn’t know exactly what goes in it! Rum goes in Sangria?! I had no clue. I also wasn’t sure which red wine to use at first but I did a little online browsing and decided to go with a Tempranillo. A CHEAP Tempranillo because honestly I’m not that picky when it comes to my wine ( always down for saving a few bucks ) and also because it’s mixed with a lot of stuff so at the end of the day I don’t think anyone would really notice! And it turned out pretty great!
Also one of my favorite things about making Sangria is that we have enough for the whole weekend! Dinner party anyone!? We only have a few weeks of summer left and the weather is starting to change! It’s getting SO nice outside in the evenings and this would be perfect for a Back Yard BBQ!
Mama Mia Sangria
- 1 cup Peach Sweet Leaf Tea
- 1 1/2 cups of rum (we used our Ron Barcelo honeymoon rum from Punta Cana)
- 1 bottle of red wine (I went with Tempranillo, fruity but dry)
- Juice from 1 lemon
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 2 peaches, cut in small pieces
- 2 apples, cut in small pieces
Soak fresh fruit in tea, rum, and lemon juice in the bottom of large pitcher for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Top off with red wine, stir and chill. Serve over ice.
( I let it sit overnight for all of the fruit flavors to really come out)
The next one is perfect for Saturday morning brunch! I love my saturdays because I get to sleep in!! And this is the perfect lazy Saturday morning, stay in your pajamas, eat brunch and watch TV mimosa!
- 1 part Raspberry Tea
- 2 parts champagne
- Orange juice
- Orange slices (for garnish)
Pour tea and champagne over raspberries. Top off with orange juice, garnish with an orange slice if you want and enjoy!!
Cheers to Friday!! What are you guys up to this weekend?
