We're back from Tulum and TBH so happy to be home because how long can you take advantage of all-inclusive perks without feeling like all of the clothes you came with are shrinking! BUT it was a ton of fun and I'll definitely be sharing a post on the trip soon. Less of a guide since we completely changed our plans 12 hours before our flight (landing on an all-inclusive deal from Groupon) and more of a journal entry recap! Stay tuned 🙂
So if you haven't followed along for awhile or you're new, Sam and I manage two vacation rentals and we live between the two of them which makes life really interesting to say the very least. BUT before our trip we put an offer on a house that we could actually call home - and you know, unpack and have our belongings out and have things in drawers. We are so used to living out of our suitcases and locked closets that the idea of this seems so luxurious! Haha. Every time we travel I literally unpack my whole suitcase, put clothes in drawers and hang up whatever I can! But anyway, we make do with our lifestyle just fine. It's not that bad!
However we recently found this house that was really really old but it was on half an acre with the most fabulous backyard (my favorite part of the whole place), had a guest house and was a few blocks from the lake (!!!). We saw all of the potential for the property - but it needed the kind of work that only HGTV can accomplish. It needed A LOT done. Anyway, lots of back and forth and long story short, the inspection came back really bad and the house won't appraise for near the amount they are asking. And it's been a whole mess because there's been zero compromise and communication with us - so we reluctantly retracted our offer and are continuing our search! It was probably for the best, but we were really hoping that we'd be moving in by the end of July...so now we're trying to figure out our next move. We have a different house in our back pocket that also has potential, and we don't love it but it would still be really nice! Do we make the offer or keep looking? That's where we are now.
And then we weren't even home a full day when we found out that our little Blue Heeler, Nugget, needs a pretty pricey leg surgery! He LOVES to play and ever since he was a puppy it has been hard to make this guy stay still for more than a second. He runs around at the speed of light, but it's really hard on his little legs and he ended up blowing one of his knees out and tearing some tendons around it. SO he needs surgery and he'll have to stay off of it for 8 entire weeks which is going to be the hardest thing in the world for him to do!
Sam found Nugget in Oklahoma on the side of the road with a broken leg when he was a puppy and even after two surgeries to fix it, we could hardly keep him still! He just loves to play and I'm super bummed that he won't be able to swim with me all summer...but we're probably going to find a stroller and be those people that you see pushing their dog everywhere in a baby stroller! How else can we keep him still and have him doing everything with us? Ideas?
Anyway so that's what's been up lately - life. is. wild. Dress deets are below!
Women's Floral Flounce Cold Shoulder
This Blue Floral Cold Shoulder dress from Target was so fun to wear! It's $27.99 and I'll definitely be wearing this one all summer long - it's hard for me to find an off the shoulder that I love but this one is super flattering! It'll also be great for the 4th with the red florals on it. Find it here or below on the product widget! Also available in this polka dot version.
