As I'm typing this up it's the night before my Game Day feature on the CBS Lifestyle Show, We Are Austin! I'm so nervous!!! AND I am so excited about this opportunity. Hopefully I can spit everything out eloquently....but if I fumble at least it will be relevant to the topic! LOL...
Anyway I wanted to go ahead and post what I'll be sharing on the show in case any of you lovely people want to replicate these 3 Easy & Fun Finger foods for the Big Game! Here ya go 🙂
3 Easy and Fun Finger Foods for the Big Game
Mini Hot Dogs
Mini Cocktail Franks (Bought mine at HEB) & Mini Hot Dog Buns (or Regular Hot Dog Buns cut in thirds or Hawaiian Rolls cut like a hot dog bun)!
How to Make Mini Hot Dog Buns:
Mix & knead in mixer:
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 packet of instant yeast
- 3 1/2 cups of all purpose flour (I always have to add a little more water, a little at a time at the end to mix the remaining flour in)
Cover dough and let rise 2 hours, form dough into size and shape of mini hot dogs (make sure to flatten the bottom so that it forms correctly), brush with egg wash or butter to brown nicely, bake 15 minutes on 375. Cool, cut like a hotdog bun and it'll be ready for your mini hotdog!
Mini Chicken & Waffles
Pre-cooked frozen chicken strips, mini Eggo waffles, fruit (I used strawberries and raspberries), syrup and honey butter for toppings!
How to Make Mini Chicken & Waffles:
Pop chicken strips in the oven until crispy & brown (see cooking time on bag). Once done cut in half. Pop mini waffles in the toaster. Then layer waffle, chicken, waffle and insert a toothpick to hold together. Top with a fruit garnish and drizzle with syrup OR put honey butter and syrup on the side and let your guests decide their toppings of choice!
Two boxes of brownie mix, a 9 X13 pan, a football shaped cookie cutter, icing and sprinkles in team colors!
How to Make Football Brownies:
Make both brownie mix's and pour into 9X13 pan. Bake according to box directions. Mine were perfect at 45 minutes with the box oven temperature!
Let cool & then cut out football brownies with cookie cutter. Have fun decorating! Do white laces or team colors and sprinkles!
