Our Columbus Day Weekend: Sam got in from Nevada on Friday night after a 24 hour day, literally. He was up at 3am to track tortoises in the desert and then back home in Austin, TX at 3am. That same night I moved myself and the dogs back over to the house in Lakeway because my sister-in-law Julie and her husband Luke were coming in at 10pm to stay with us before house shopping the next morning!
Saturday, Sam woke up around 7 and made everyone waffles (yes after a 24 hour day) and then we spent the better part of the morning in and around Lakeway checking out homes with Julie and Luke. They are moving to Lakeway and we are super excited! Austin is 100x better than Houston, just saying. They took us out to lunch afterward at Mandola’s Italian Market and then we said our goodbyes before going home to pack up and do some serious napping!
Sunday we had to be out of the house for the next renters, so we loaded up and headed to my parents house! Back to Pflugerville we went! I spent most of Sunday working on Etsy shop progress but Sam convinced me to walk away from the computer for a while and take a nice evening stroll around Lake Pflugerville. That time is just so important, where it’s just him and I, uninterrupted. We rarely get it these days!
Monday (today), Sam left for work again. Off to Tallahassee this time, but only until Thursday! Thank God. I worked on a few posts for The Daytripper, went to the gym and took a nice little nap. I’m really excited about this week because it’s a short one for me school wise! Thursday I have off so that I can go to the TX Conference for Women and I can’t wait!!! Then on Friday after school, Sam and I are taking time to get away. A little road trip through the Texas Hill Country to Lost Maples and then onto Leakey. I seriously can’t. wait. Zoey and Nugget will have a field day! Haha.
Hope everyone has a great week 🙂
