Last week I got a much needed motivational pep talk from Sam. Sometimes I get too caught up in the back-end of blogging, that I forget to REALLY enjoy it. It's a hustle and sometimes it takes me sitting down and writing out 3,000 (yes, exactly, 3,000) emails a day to land a brand that I really want to work with!
I can get serious tunnel vision and forget to make time for the fun parts of blogging and why I started it in the first place. So after my little pep talk with Sam, where he said to me and I quote: "when you look back on it all I want you to have truly enjoyed every bit of it" (thanks babe, so sweet), I decided that is just what I was going to do and I set out on my own unofficial "joy project."
I don't want to miss the joy in trying new things, seeing new places, and meeting new people because I'm thinking too much about the business aspect of it all. So in an effort to consciously soak up all that life has to offer in Austin, Texas I hit the road to try something new 🙂 - Which means I put my computer away, I put on something that didn't resemble pajamas, actually brushed my hair and I left the house! Yay me!
Bufalina serves up true Italian Neapolitan pizza's in Austin, Texas! Owner, Steven Dilley, has worked well to perfect his pizza - even traveling to Naples itself to study the craft of the perfect Neapolitan pizza with the Vera Pizza Napoletana’s training program. And with two locations (Bufalina on Cesar Chavez & Bufalina Due on Burnet Rd.) it's really easy to find your way to "Naples in Texas." I've always wanted to visit Italy (especially because I'm Italian), but until then I found a little piece of Italy in Austin, and I don't think you could get any closer.
Both locations feature a Napoli Stefano Ferrara oven, which was easily visible from where I sat down at Bufalina Due to enjoy my Margherita pizza! Made from simple and fresh tomato, mozzarella, basil and parmesan, the Margherita was mouth-watering and I would have eaten the entire thing had I not wanted to save a little bit for Sam!
The space is bright, simple and warm with wooden tables and wooden shelves holding a great selection of wine. It's mandatory to have a glass of wine with Naples-style pizza, right? I think it should be. I can't wait to take Sam here for a date night!
Make sure you check the locations and hours on their website before heading out (each location has different hours)! ENJOY!
