Happy Memorial Day! Hope you've had a relaxing and fun weekend! We've been in and around water all weekend because this heat is NUTS! This little baby is going to be a lake rat before he's even born, and then loving the water will just be imposed upon him.
On Saturday we took a little day trip to Hunt, TX to float in the Guadalupe River & if you've never been I highly recommend it - Hunt, TX is GORGEOUS! My brother grew up going to a camp down there called La Junta and I was always so envious that he got to spend two solid weeks in Texas paradise riding horses, doing archery, and all the fun things! But now as an adult there are plenty of places to escape to in Hunt - different lodges, and places like Mo Ranch that are open to the public!
Anyway back to my reason for posting, I wanted to share baby boy's nursery inspo with you! We've already picked out the crib and ordered the glider/rocker and the rug! I've linked a lot of items that go with the general theme/color scheme below - I wanted the nursery to be neutral with white, beige, browns, and greens and not super cartoony babyish if that makes sense.
I've also been trying to find a good wallpaper for a boy nursery that would go with the look! I couldn't link the one that I really like and want in the product widget below because it wasn't ShopStyle widget compatible but I linked some similar-ishh. I want an elegant print that adds to the room in an understated way and less of a wallpaper that demands all of the attention like a big artsy mural (which Sam really wanted). Sam is so funny because he loves being involved in every step of the house decor process of any room, so I have to get him to see my vision for things before he understands it and likes it to (if I'm lucky...sometimes we just don't agree and have to find something we both like). So to help Sam understand the wallpaper situation, I literally told him I want it to be more "Southern Living Nursery" and less "HGTV Nursery" (nothing against HGTV, I LOVE them. I've been trying to win one of their giveaway houses for years!) and then he totally got it! Haha... but anyway, if we can't get the exact wallpaper we want then we probably just won't do one and we'll figure out something else for the crib wall.
I'm super excited for everything to come together! And I know it's just a nursery but it's the first room we've truly intentionally decorated in such a short amount of time. All of the other rooms in our house are kind of a hodge podge of furniture we've accumulated during different times in our lives that we've made work (exhibit a: our living room, that we're especially hoping to re-decorate sometime in the not too distant future). Sooo I hope it all comes together well!
I do have a Nursery Pinterest Board where I'm drawing inspiration from over at https://www.pinterest.com/AmandaKWaltman/, but I'm keeping it private until we do the final reveal! And as soon as I post the nursery pics, I'll make it public and link everything exactly that we put in baby boy's nursery!
