This was my very first experience at the ATX TV Festival - Austin always has so many different events going on and to be honest I'd never heard of ATX TV Fest before. But it's been going on for 6 years now and I wish I'd known about it sooner, especially when The Gilmore Girls came to town in 2015 - ugh, can't believe I missed it!
ATX TV Festival is essentially a "TV Camp for grown-ups" as they like to call it - with different panels, show screenings, script readings, interviews and celeb guests that dig deeper into the medium of TV, celebrate & discuss many different aspects of it. I was intrigued, ESPECIALLY because this year held a THIS IS US Panel and none other than my favorite actor (since Gilmore Girls), Milo Ventimiglia, would be there to talk about it. Check out the pictures below, he was so close! Didn't work up the nerve to get a picture because well one, a mob charged him as soon as the panel was over and two, his dreamboat TV characters and seeing him in real life was extremely stupefying. Haha....but really.
I attended a couple panels, a screening and a live script reading by actors and actresses cast to be on a show that never ended up airing on ABC. The whole experience was really neat, especially if you love listening to panels/discussions/talks - which I LOVE (I seriously listen to podcasts all day every day - which btw if you have any rec's for me I always love getting them).
