Ready for New Year’s Eve tomorrow? Sam and I just got back from San Francisco (post coming soon) and decided we’d like a lazy night in, watch the ball drop, drink some champagne, hang out in PJs by the fire kind of New Year’s Eve. I’m excited about it! Especially since its 8pm and we are about to tackle a project and paint our entire guest room in my parents house. …zZzZz
I’ve been thinking about resolutions for the new year and here’s what I got (my list is a little long but i’m going for the whole “shoot for the stars land on the moon” thing):
Write more! I’ve been really excited about writing for The Day Tripper and TexasHillCountry.com and I can’t wait to contribute more because it’s a great way to learn more about the area that I live in. I’ve also always enjoyed writing and it’s neat to write something that gets published places other than my blog because I never knew I was capable of doing that! Check out my latest article on Texas Hill Country.
Grow my Blog. I really want to put a lot more into my blog this year! Life is always going to be crazy but blogging is a hobby that I thoroughly love and want to always make time for. It’s a space where I can be creative, try new things and share bits and pieces of my life and I can’t wait to see how it grows and changes in 2016.
More Quiet Time. Make more space in my life for God. It’s hard with so many things I want to get done in a day and so many distractions to always sit still before God’s Word and before God. But I want to do more of that this year. More frequently. Not because I should but because I need Jesus.
Look up more. I can’t be the only one who finds themselves being a little bit too much of a phone face. I want to remember to appreciate the little delights that happen when you are looking up from your phone and at the world and the life that is happening around you. I want to soak up the moments and make the most of them. Even if that means snapping a picture quickly and then putting my phone away the rest of the time! Gotta find that balance.
Move more. I thought about leaving the cliche fitness goals off of my list BUT my health is important to me so why not. I want to get back into my gym/running flow. Teaching really took me off the fitness bandwagon but I want back on!
Eat Less. Or Eat bad foods in moderation is what I really mean. My face would really appreciate it if I started eating a whole food and green juice diet again. I’d really love less breakouts too.
Better Time Management. Now that my schedule is a little bit more flexible I want to prioritize and set goals for each day! When you don’t have a set schedule it’s kind of easy to let the day go by without really accomplishing much. But I plan on planning a lot!
Travel more. We’ve been really fortunate with Sam’s job and how much he travels (which has its ups and downs) because it’s enabled him to get a Companion Pass with Southwest which means I travel for free anywhere he books a ticket to! We think we’ll start trying to have kids in a year or two so might as well get in as much traveling as possible within the next year!
What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Do share!! 🙂
